If you’re a tenant or subtenant, make sure you get your RL-31 slip from your landlord. You’ll need it to claim the housing component of the solidarity tax credit and complete Schedule D. This will ensure that you get the full amount you’re entitled to under that component.

To receive the tax credit, you must:

  • file your income tax return and Schedule D;
  • be registered for direct deposit.

Note that your landlord has until February 28 to give you your RL-31 slip.

For more information about the credit, see the Claiming the Solidarity Tax Credit page.
