If you were a tenant or subtenant on December 31, 2022, your landlord should have given you your RL-31 slip by February 28, 2023. If you didn’t get it, talk to your landlord right away.
You’ll need your RL-31 slip to claim the housing component of the solidarity tax credit and complete Schedule D. This will ensure that you get the full amount you’re entitled to under that component.
To receive the tax credit, you must:
- file your income tax return and Schedule D;
- be registered for direct deposit.
